When are you open?
The UNIMOG Truck driving & our Quad Trails are open all year round. To view the dates we are open for the rest of the Langdale Quest routes click here.
Can I bring my own vehicle?
The standard routes are well maintained so all types of 4x4 vehicles (including the ones which normally get polished on Sunday morning) can be used! Just be warned that some of the routes can get a bit muddy and there is a chance your nice shiny Porsche Cayenne will not be as nice and shiny at the end of the day.
Will I be in any danger? What steps/precautions do you take to ensure my safety?
Upon arrival we 'log' you in & run through a safety briefing covering the site safety code, vehicle controls, navigation, Treasure Hunt, 2 way radio operation & basic off-road driving skills required to negotiate your 4x4 through the forest.
Mobile instructors monitor your progress & provide you with all the help you need to ensure a high level of safety whilst on site.
Do you allow children?
Our Langdale Quest facility provides an outstanding recreational activity for the whole family, with the emphasis on 'FUN' and at the same time achieving a safety record which is second to none! The Langdale Quest activity is family friendly, Treasure Hunts are provided along all the
routes, kids also enjoy using the 2-way radios when 'checking in' with the
instructors and helping with the navigating!
The Supacat Ride is a great activity for kids birthdays as it can seat up to 7 people plus an instructor.
We also have 'Kiddies Quads'. Find out more here.
What if I get lost?
All our routes are well marked, and we provide instructions on how to navigate your way through the forest before 'letting you loose'.
Is it sensible to take my nice shiny and very expensive Porsche Cayenne on the X-Treme route?
Yes...very sensible!! See what not to do here.
How do I find Moorland Adventure Sport?
Detailed instructions on how to find us can be found here.
Can you recommend anywhere to stay locally?
If you require local accommodation we would recommend either:
Are there any restrictions on who can drive? Do I need to bring my drivers licence?
For the majority of activities all drivers must be over 18 years & have held a FULL CAR Licence for a minimum of 12 months. We can also provide Quad biking for those without a licence and children above the age of 6...contact us for further details.
What kind of vehicles can be used on the LQ site?
Forestry Commission stipulate that any vehicle used on their land must
comply with highways legislation. This does not mean that they must be
MOT'd! There are some classifications of vehicles which are exempt from MOT tests,
for example Agricultural Use or Limited Use.
What should I wear on the day? Will i get muddy?
The Fact File on each activity indicates the likelihood of getting muddy/stuck. Therefore we advise wearing suitable clothing for such occurrences. When required safety equipment will be provided.
Is there anywhere I can get food and drink, or should I bring my own?
You can get meals locally at The Moorcock Inn. Contact us for further details.
What is your cancellation policy?
No refunds given within 14 days of the event. However, the booking can be transferred to either a different date or we can transfer the cost towards the value of a different activity.
What is your environmental policy?
For detailed information on our Environmental Policy click here.
Would the Jungle Trek be suitable for a Freelander?
Firstly, its important that you accept that your Freelander is an off-roader - as this is how the manufacturers promote it in their sales literature etc...
All off-roaders are designed to withstand under-body impacts & as the Freelander is a little lower than most, it will ground out in places along the Jungle Trek.
Now, as the vehicle has been designed & sold to you as a vehicle which is suitable for on & off road use it should be fine.
We now see many Freelanders on site & their drivers use them on any of the routes except the X-treme - all make it back & drive home - we have not yet had one leave on the back of an AA truck!!
If, on the other hand, you consider your Freelander to be a car then the LQ is no place for you to use it, drivers of cars don't like it when they hear noises relating to the vehicles body hitting the ground.
